RAID Support
RAID support information for TeraByte's programs is listed below. In general, hardware and firmware-based RAID is supported; OS and software RAID is not, with several exceptions.
Note: If you have a RAID configuration you're not sure about, you can use the trial version (or full version, if purchased) of the program to check if it's supported.
BootIt Bare Metal
- Hardware and firmware RAID support is provided by the system BIOS.
- OS and software-based RAID is not supported.
Image for DOS
- Hardware and firmware RAID support is provided by the system BIOS.
- OS and software-based RAID is not supported.
Image for Linux
- Supports most RAID configurations, including hardware RAID, firmware-based RAID, and Linux Software RAID.
- Certain LVM/RAID configurations may not be supported.
- Other OS and software-based RAID is not supported (e.g. Windows Dynamic Disk RAID).
Image for Windows
- Supports hardware and firmware-based RAID.
- OS and software-based RAID is not supported (e.g. Dynamic Disk RAID, Linux Software RAID).
- Saving a backup to or reading a backup from a Dynamic Disk RAID is supported.
- For the Image for Windows recovery media (TBWinRE, TBWinPE), many standard RAID drivers are included. If necessary, when creating the recovery media, Windows RAID drivers can be added.
