Image for DOS File Option Does Not Work with MakeDisk-Created Boot Media

Please note: This article applies to version 1 product(s) only.

Problem:

After creating Image for DOS boot media using MakeDisk, the File menu option does not appear.

Cause:

The TBOS environment created by MakeDisk does not assign drive letters.  Therefore, you cannot specify a drive letter using the File menu option.

Solution:

Choose one of the following two options:

  • Continue using the MakeDisk-created Image for DOS boot media, and select the Partition option, rather than the File option.

  • Instead of using MakeDisk to create the Image for DOS boot media, create a standard bootable DOS environment instead.  Instructions on how to do this are provided in the Image for DOS PDF manual.
