How to Disable the Native Windows Boot Menu (NTLDR)
If you do not wish to see the native Windows boot menu at all, you can bypass it entirely. Following these instructions will result in Windows automatically loading the default boot item listed in BOOT.INI.
For Windows 2000/XP/2003:
- Log in as a member of the Administrators group.
- Open the System Properties dialog by doing one of the following:
- Select the System icon in Control Panel
- Right-click the My Computer icon and select Properties from the pop-up menu
- Hold down the Alt key and double-click the My Computer icon
- Select the Advanced tab on the System Properties dialog.
- Click the Settings button under Startup and Recovery. The Startup and Recovery dialog appears.
- Uncheck the "Time to display list of operating systems" option.
- Click OK on the Startup and Recovery dialog.
- Click OK on the System Properties dialog.
For Windows NT:
- Log in as a member of the Administrators group.
- Select the System icon from the Control Panel.
- Select the Startup/Shutdown tab on the System Properties window.
- Change the time out to 0.
- Click OK.
