BootIt BM CD/DVD Boots to Black Screen or Screen with Multi-colored Bands

Problem:

When booting the BootIt BM CD/DVD, instead of the BootIt desktop being displayed the screen remains black or contains multi-colored bands.

Cause:

The computer's BIOS does not properly support HD emulation used on the CD/DVD boot media. HD emulation is used when the contents are too large to fit using 2.88 emulation (floppy).

Solution:

If possible, use a USB flash drive (UFD) for the boot media. Otherwise, deselect components when creating the boot media to reduce the size required. For example, create one CD without disk imaging (Image for DOS) and another CD without Scripting Support. When installing, boot and install from both CDs to have both disk imaging and scripting installed.
